An opportunity...

Postby Greldon Silverhand » Sat May 26, 2007 6:36 pm

After talking to a few of your members and an officer of Illumanati, I am posting here as directed by many of them.

I am greldon, Officer of darkwind on Antonius Bayle. Darkwind is one of the top few serverwide guilds, killing in solteris (workin hard to beat second event) and naturally destroying all of TSS for lootfarm purposes.

We raid 6 days a week most weeks, with saturdays being off and occasionally fridays too. Our raids start at 6.30 CET until 11 ~ ish PM. As Sony would have it, Solteris is a zone designed for insane dps heavy guilds. With the impending summer, we are preparing to replenish our ranks with a handful of people with the right attitude and desire to destroy highend raiding zones.

Talking to your members in game, I have seen that Illu's attendance barely breaks 15~20 nowadays, and a handful of you have told me that you would wish to get back into serious raiding, and like the idea of being in a top serverwide guild that has a ton of fun while blowing stuff up =x

So here comes my offer: I could probably offer a new home to the Illumanati who wish to take me up on it and still want to play this game at the highend. Of course, it all needs to be discussed and i'd have to have a clear idea of who all would be coming, but it could probably be arranged. I had initially talked to an officer who said he'd inform your guild, and get back to me, but nothing of it happened and I have not found him online yet.

So, i got told to post here, and I'm willing to talk with you all one by one, or if you prefer, talk with someone you'd appoint to speak for all of you who might be interested.

Our guild website is http://www.darkwind-guild.org -- and you can find me in game on antonius.greldonxx (that's what i get for having same-name chars across servers before the big merge some time ago). For any questions about darkwind you might have, or if you just want to get to know me, feel free to throw me a tell and we'll take it from there.

Hope to see you soon in the madhouse,

Greldon the Vicar

Greldon,

not trying to be funny, but trying to recruit from a live guild, by posting on their boards, seems a wierd thing to do.
Is this the sort of behavior and FU2 attitude your guild generally displays, because if so, it's unlikely that most Illumanati would be a good fit for you anyway.

I'm less impressed that your post is nothing more than attempt to carrion-feed. You need to work on your manners a wee bit!
You need to research a little better - Illumanati is a social guild that raids - most of its members joined because they can participate in at most 2 or 3 raids/week and appreciate the Illumanati rule that RL always comes first. Forgetting everything else, don' you think that your post (Greldon) is little more than spam, barely higher than someone logging into the boards to advertise RMT?

To all Illumanati: This isn't an endorsed post. Leaving it in place to act as a *warning* about Darkwind. If anyone is considering a cross-server xfer to a 6-night a week raiding organisation, I'd recommend looking into one or two of the others on AB first, unless you want to join a guild that is represented by this clueless wonder. If this is the level of respect show to potential recruits, I'd be very surprised if the membership of Darkwind are anything more than numbers in a rather bland raiding Hamster's wheel.

Greldon: you need to have a discussion in your guild. You just clocked up another protest to SoE - you need to have a serious re-think about your recruitment policies. Darkwind seems to be a dying guild, given your roster ups and downs, but your 'we-will-approach-direct-so-f***-you' approach really isn't going to be doing you any favours. More to the point, the people you do recruit with this kind of approach are not going to be very loyal, are not going to help your guild, but are going to be the ones focused on helping themselves as much as they can. If you step back and have a think about it, these probably aren't the A1 members you actually really want. If you want good people, impress them, stop trying to fool them?

Ho hum, takes all sorts I guess.

I'd like to take an opportunity to thank Greldon for his post.

Now, although my reply is not an official Illumanati reply, I think there are more people inside these doors that feel this way than not:

Greldon,

I would like to extend an invitation to you and your members to consider joining us on Saryn. Illumanati is a guild with strong roots dating back over 7 years now. Your members would be welcome on this server and enjoy great respect wearing the Illumanati tag above their names. I'm sure most would fit in fine, but keep in mind, the amount of honorability that we demand in Illumanati may be a little higher than you are used to on AB. Myself as well as many of my guildmates consider Illumanati not as a guild tag, but as a lifelong tatoo, not something that can be removed easily if ever.

With that being said, Illumanati is a very strong family and raiding guild that lives on the Saryn server which has a large US population and a smaller European population. We find this condusive to our guild as many of the crowds on the 'limited' mobs and zones are not around when we would like to target them. We welcome your members to come to our site and apply where an evaluation can be made on each member.

Thank you very much for your consideration.

Very Respectfully,
Calizor Correzente
