Databases are a pain to write. The task of manually adding stuff can be over whelming at times. I have a solution!
Century CD Organizer it stores your CD/DVDs in a carousel and keeps a database of what is on them. you go to your database, type in any search string and whamo! It lists what you looked for. Then you can tell it to eject the CD/DVD from the storage unit and Bingo! your set... The damn this is just awesome... And yes i damn well am getting more than one! They stack and can be added to one huge database!!!!!
Next on my list is my second best geek on toy! A simple barcode scanner. Why you ask? Simple...
I love movies, so much so that i have way too many and am ashamed to tell you how many i have. But my wall shelves and brimming. I belong a Movie club as well and buy often.
If you go to any discount tech site you can get a simple barcode scanner for about 5 or 6 bucks. Once ya do go to downloads.com and do a search for barcode database. Up pops all kinds of Databases. A Grocery database; scan an item you just used before you throw it away and it stores it to a list of items you need when you go shopping next. A DVD/CD database for movies and music CDs.
The possibilities are endless with all the kinds of databases out there.
